Properties Cold bitumen floors are highly resistant to mechanical stress. The surfacing is very tough, noise-absorbing, non-skid, heat-insulating and completely maintenance-free. They have a seamless, smooth and dense surface which is easy to keep free of dust. The IMPLOPHALT system is ideal for refurbishment of old floors. You can walk on it within two days of installation. Cold bitumen floors are dark-brown to black in colour. Impact damage and hairline cracks do not flake or crumble, but are pressed back by the traffic on the surface. IMPLOPHALT floors are not resistant to oil, grease or solvents. They are not suitable in locations where constant damp and heavy traffic can be expected.
Materials/processing The cold bitumen flooring mixture comprises sand, chippings, cement and special bitumen emulsion. These starting materials are mixed to an earth-moist mortar in a compulsory mixer. This mass is laid in a single course and sanded clean. The floor is laid to a thickness of 10-15 mm. |
